Potters' Pumpkin Patch Trail
The Potters' Pumpkin Patch Trail is a fall favorite in Seagrove, bringing visitors along the Pottery Highway to five participating studios: Blue Hen Pottery, Crystal King Pottery, Seagrove Stoneware, Thomas Pottery, and The Triangle Studio.
The self-guided begins on Saturday September 19th and runs every Saturday until October 17th, giving you plenty of time to visit the studios and see what each potter has created for the season. Look for ceramic pumpkins and gourds, woodland animals, fall decorations, and other one-of-a-kind pieces you won’t find anywhere else. With special offerings and events changing throughout the trail, each stop has something a little different to see.
American Craft Week
During American Craft Week, Seagrove’s potters welcome visitors behind the scenes to see how handmade pottery comes to life. Watch artists work at the wheel, explore working studios and galleries, and in some cases, join in and try the craft for yourself.
Take your time exploring individual studios, meet the potters, browse their galleries, and discover the incredible range of talent throughout this creative community. Plan to spend the day, you may find yourself already planning your next visit before you leave.
Seagrove Pottery Festival
The Seagrove Pottery Festival is a celebration of the area’s long pottery tradition and the artists who continue to make Seagrove one of the largest pottery communities in the United States. A community staple for more than four decades, the festival brings potters from Seagrove and across North Carolina together each year.
Held annually on the weekend before Thanksgiving, November 21st and 22nd, visitors can watch live pottery demonstrations and take part in the signed and dated pottery auction, offering a chance to take home a piece made by one of the participating artists. Local food vendors are also on hand, making the festival an easy way to spend part of the day exploring Seagrove and its pottery community.
Celebration of Seagrove Potters Show and Studio Tour
The Celebration of Seagrove Potters offers another way to experience Seagrove’s pottery community during the weekend of the Pottery Festival. Centered at the newly renovated Luck Comer Lail Center, also known as Historic Luck’s Cannery, the celebration begins Friday evening with a ticketed gala featuring preview shopping, followed by a live pottery auction and music. Throughout the weekend, the cannery hosts an ongoing indoor show where visitors can browse and purchase work from participating potters.
The weekend also includes a free, self-guided driving tour to participating pottery studios. This gives visitors the opportunity to go beyond the gallery and visit potters in their own creative spaces, see where their work is made, meet the artists, and shop directly from the studios.
