In cities and towns, travel spending generates local revenue, revitalizes main streets and finds essential services like public safety, education and infrastructure. Travel also serves as a catalysts for connection and opportunity. It brings families, businesses and communities together, laying the foundation for collaboration lasting friendships, and shared progress.

In 2024, visitors spent $199.86 million in Randolph county while supporting 1,164 direct tourism jobs. Across 32 destinations in Randolph county 1,701,999 people visited the Heart of North Carolina in 2024. On a national scale, the tourism industry generates $1.4 trillion in direct spending while supporting 15 million jobs in 2025. Tourism is a major economic driver for the United States and presents a huge opportunity for success within the American economy that accounts for 2% of the GDP.
