Overview
National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) is an annual celebration that underscores travel’s essential role in driving our nation's economy, cultivating vibrant communities and forging connections. In cities and towns, travel spending generates local revenue, revitalizes main streets and finds essential services like public safety, education and infrastructure. Travel also serves as a catalysts for connection and opportunity. It brings families, businesses and communities together, laying the foundation for collaboration lasting friendships, and shared progress.
In 2023, visitors spent $189.50 million in Randolph county while supporting 1,145 direct tourism jobs. Across 30 destinations in Randolph county 1,567,930 people visited the Heart of North Carolina in 2023. On a national scale, the tourism industry generates $1.3 trillion in direct spending while supporting 15 million jobs.
