Founded on the pillar of education for families in the surrounding community, the City of Trinity was the birthplace of Duke University (once known as Trinity College). Now, Trinity is home to the Trinity Bulldogs and Wheatmore Warriors, where championship athletics, arts and theater, and award-winning CTE programs pay homage to a long history of educating future generations.
Spanning the rural northwest corner of Randolph County, Trinity is right between Archdale and Thomasville, and only a few miles from High Point, the Home Furnishings Capital of the WorldTM and host of the High Point Market. Trinity is about 90 miles from Raleigh or Charlotte, an easy drive for a weekend or day trip.

Zimmerman Vineyards is a family-owned vineyard with majestic Uwharrie Mountain views. With space for up to 100 guests, it’s ideal for an intimate outdoor ceremony in the heart of Randolph County. A Perfect Day (or Weekend!) in Trinity
Here’s what we love about Trinity: you can start your morning over great coffee, spend the afternoon exploring history and antiques, and wind down with a glass of wine or a plate of slow-smoked BBQ – all without ever getting on the interstate.
Kick off your day at Colonial Grind (technically just across the city line in Thomasville, but squarely in the Trinity neighborhood and a go-to for locals on both sides of the border), where drinks are made to order and the pastry chef whips up daily baked goods. After coffee, head on over to Spade and Broom to shop for unique home décor in the renovated 1900 George B. Craven home (only open Thursday-Saturday, though, so plan accordingly). Come lunchtime, BBQ Joe’s Country Cooking & Catering is a Trinity staple, where the slow-smoked pork, fall-off-the-bone ribs, and homemade banana pudding have built a loyal following that stretches well beyond Randolph County.
Round out your afternoon at Zimmerman Vineyards for a tasting among the vines. Set on 140 rolling acres at the foot of Mt. Shepherd, Zimmerman Vineyards is the first commercial vineyard in Randolph County. Weekend tours and wine tastings draw visitors from across the region, and with live music from local country and bluegrass singer-songwriter Donna Hughes (a lifelong Trinity resident), the atmosphere is as warm as the setting is beautiful.
Trinity is served by three major airports – GSO, RDU, and CLT. Piedmont Triad International in Greensboro (GSO) is the closest and most convenient. I-85 and I-40 make driving in a breeze from virtually anywhere in the Carolinas. Neighboring city Archdale offers six hotels including Choice, IHG, Hilton, and Marriott rewards properties, so a comfortable night’s stay is always nearby.
History. Wine. Barbecue. Gorgeous rolling North Carolina hills. Trinity might just be the best kept secret in the Piedmont. So, drive on down. We’d love to have you for a visit.
