Things To Do -> Parks & Recreation

Randolph County sits in the heart of North Carolina. Located approximately an hour from the millions of people living in Charlotte, the Triad, and the Triangle, it offers an escape from urban hustle and bustle through an abundance of natural resources. Once the home of some of the state's first textile mills, scattered subsistence farms, and an industrial rail line, Randolph County is turning different pasts into trails to create assets that have value for residents and visitors.

This effort has been led by communities asking the question, "What's next?" and taking inventory of the resources available. Randolph County's trail resources span the spectrum and offer something for everyone, from wilderness hiking trails in the Uwharrie Mountains to greenways in city parks to the Deep River State Trail, NC's only "hybrid" state trail, which is both land-based and a paddle trail.
