Treasure Hunting in Randolph County
September brings special events on top of our everyday bounty of destinations for antique shoppers and admirers.
The Liberty Antiques Festival opens at its new location at Ramseur’s Windy Hill Farms Sept. 25-26, hosting more than 250 dealers from across the country. Entry is $10 for adults and free for kids under 12.
The following weekend provides another option for antique shopping in Ramseur, with the inaugural Vintage Oaks Antique Festival Oct. 2-3. This new show offers curated antique vendors with festival charm.

Look Up to the Carolina Blue Skies
On September 26th, the NC Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame presents their 30th Annual Fly-In, with excitement in the air and on the ground. A $10 ticket (kids 10 and under are free) includes entry to the museum. Food vendors will be on-site to fuel your discovery of aviation history.
Experience a Unique Night of Theater
Local performing arts company Rhinoleap Productions brings The Importance of Being Earnest to stages across central NC this month. Enjoy a one-of-a-kind night out as the actors arrive at each venue for the first time the day of the show and base their performance on that venue.
Show locations in Randolph County are Linbrook Heritage Estate on Sept. 10th, Holly Ridge Golf Links on Sept. 24th, Randolph Senior Adults Center on Sept. 25th and Four Saints Brewing Company on Sept. 27th.
Bring Home Charming Fall Décor
The 4th Annual Fall Craft & Vendor Market at Whitaker Farms in Climax takes place Sept. 12th from 9am-3pm with free admission. Visit over 40 local artisans and pick out your pumpkins, mums, and other fall décor. Hit the bakery for a meal or sweet treat, and entertain your little ones in the kids zone for just $7.
Have a Quiet Adventure
Interested in exploring the Wildlife Itinerary but want to avoid a lot of crowds and noise? Sept. 15th is one of the NC Zoo’s Quiet Days, with no large groups, field trips, loud music or messaging permitted. Sensory bags and designated quiet areas are available throughout the park.
Soak in the Last of Summer Concerts
The final installment of the Summer Concert Series at Asheboro’s Bicentennial Park features The Entertainers. Head to downtown Asheboro on Sept. 13th at 6pm to enjoy this free, family-friendly concert, and unless you plan to dance along with the music all night, be sure to bring a chair!

The Malpass Brothers present a night of classic country music on Sept. 12th at 7pm.
Pam Tillis, the accomplished singer/songwriter and daughter of country music royalty, shares her voice on Sept. 18th at 8pm.
Award-winning gospel family group The Hoppers round out September shows on the 25th at 8pm.
Local Cruise-Ins
The Randleman Cruise-In on Sept. 19th from 10am - 4pm will have food trucks, DJs, vendors, a kid zone, and welcomes anything on wheels to this free event!
The Asheboro Summer Cruise Series will host the Jerry Thornburg Memorial Cruise-In on Sept. 26th from 6pm - 10pm at C4 Church. Any car is welcome to join the festivities.
