Domestic visitors spent a record $16.9 billion in North Carolina last year, a 2.1 percent increase from the year before.
Domestic spending was up in nine of the Triad's 12 counties. Only Rockingham and Yadkin counties saw decreases, while spending was unchanged in Guilford.
