Asheboro, NC - The Randolph Arts Guild (R.A.G.) announces an upcoming clay pottery class collaboration designed for senior citizens. North Carolina Potter, Brooke Avery is offering a hand built clay flower pot class at Archdale's Creekside Parks and Recreation Clay Studio . The class meets on Tuesdays, June 2 and 16 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Attendees will create flower pots with one of two methods: coiling or slab building. The pottery will be fired and glazed in the class. All materials are provided (plants not included). "The Randolph Arts Guild is committed to cultivating creative experiences throughout Randolph County. We are excited to partner with the City of Archdale's clay studio. Based on the turnout we hope to offer more of these kinds of opportunities" says R.A.G. Program Director, Les Caison. Archdale's Creekside clay studio is located at 214 Park Drive. Artist Bio: Brooke Avery is a ceramic artist and pottery instructor who grew up grew up and currently resides in Trinity, NC. She graduated in 2008 from UNCG with a B.F.A. in Design. Brooke teaches pottery classes at the Randolph Arts Guild and is currently a working studio artist there. Her ceramic work can be found in Greensboro at the Center for Visual Arts and in Asheboro at Morings Fine Crafts and Brightside Gallery. Brooke is also the 2014 Chug & Chunk Womens Triathlon Champion.
