Bio:
Allie Sampson is a Tennessee native and an avid swing dancer. When she took her first beginner swing lesson back in 2012, she was less than convinced that she really wanted to go. However, thanks to some very persuasive friends, Allie attended that lesson while enrolled at Tennessee Technological University and quickly fell in love with the dance. After only a few weeks of beginner lessons, she knew that swing dancing would likely be a part of her life for a long time to come. She began investing all of her free time in learning more about swing dancing and its many styles. Allie started attending lessons for more complex swing styles and greatly enjoyed learning 1920’s and 1940’s Charleston and the Lindy Hop. Shortly thereafter, she began traveling all across Tennessee and the Southeast to attend dance events and workshops. She frequently danced with the Knoxville, Cookeville and Nashville scenes and enjoyed occasional trips to dance in Huntsville and Chattanooga. Since moving to North Carolina, Allie has greatly enjoyed dancing with Piedmont Swing Dance Society and is very excited to be offering Swing Dancing to the city of Asheboro. She hopes to inspire others with the dance that swept her off her feet and give the people of Asheboro an opportunity to learn this exciting and easy art form!
