Asheboro, NC - Brightside Gallery is going to host The Mad Potter's Tea Party - starring Brook Avery on April 17, 2015 from 5 to 8 pm. This will be a trunk show of tea cups, saucers and mugs made by this amazing artist! Come out to support a local artist while having a whole lot of fun!
About the artist: Brooke Avery is a local artist who lives in Trinity, NC. She graduated from UNCG in 2008 with a B.F.A. in Design, concentration in Ceramics. Brooke enjoys all art mediums, but her biggest pride and joy is working with clay. Her studio is located at the Randolph Arts Guild. She enjoys having her studio here in Asheboro and at the Guild. Both have given her a chance to grow as an artist as well as let her creativity run wild. Brooke’s pottery creations are both functional and decorative, consisting of mugs, teapots, pitchers, plates, wall sculptures and more! Her style is very whimsical, unique and has more of an art vibe to it. Each piece is like a little canvas, carefully thought out with its own illustrations or abstract design work. Brooke enjoys incorporating her love for drawing, illustration and design into her pottery. Besides spending time in the studio making pottery, I also teach clay classes at the Randolph Arts Guild. Brooke commented, “I enjoy teaching all ages how to be creative in the classroom and to have fun with clay. I look forward to the future, coming up with new ideas, forms and what else that I can do with my artwork!”
