ASHEBORO - Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Unless you’ve been living under a rock and had no contact with young children over the past eight years you know the answer is “SpongeBob SquarePants™.” SpongeBob is the Nickelodeon™ cartoon character, who accompanied by his many chums from Bikini Bottom, has become the hottest cartoon star on television today. The star of Nickelodeon’s preeminent kids’ program is also featured in a brand new film that began March 1, in the North Carolina Zoo’s 4D Ride Theater.
Zoo patrons both young and old can join SpongeBob in pursuit of a runaway pickle required to serve the perfect Krabby Patty. Riders join SpongeBob as he chases his best friend, Patrick, through Bikini Bottom in this hilarious and zany adventure.
Since 2002 the SimEx! Iwerks 4D Ride Theater has been one of the zoo’s most popular attractions. The 4D Ride Theater delivers a high impact family-oriented entertainment experience that combines top-quality 3D visual effects, 4D physical effects, and 4D environmental effects. The SpongeBob SquarePants™ 4D Ride will only cost zoo visitors $3, in addition to regular admission.
