Randleman, NC - This year’s event will be bigger and offer lots of fun, food, activities, and vendors that will make for a great time for the entire family. The event kicks off at 9 am on Friday, June 9th in Commerce Square Park in Downtown Randleman with the opening of the Farmers Market featuring the summer’s first peaches and back by popular demand, homemade peach ice cream.
There will be events for the kids including interactive games and “bounce house” stations. A list of activities is available from the Randleman Public Library. We will be featuring other activities for youth with Harley Rides and tether jumps. There will also be shows by professional BMX stunt riders.
There will be craft vendors from across the state including a glass artist from STARworks and other local craftsmen. All of this will be supplemented by lots of good food and music.
Over twenty food trucks will provide food from across the state of North Carolina. A list of trucks can be found on the City of Randleman’s website ( www.CityofRandleman.com ), featuring trucks from the coast, Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham, and the Triad area. Last year’s State Champion, Urban Street Grill, will return to defend their championship. This year’s event will also honor the inaugural class of inductees into the North Carolina Food Truck Hall of Fame.
This juried food event will feature a Friday “secret ingredient” contest and a “signature dish” from each truck on Saturday. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded as well as decals for truck winners.
Live music will begin at noon on Friday and will conclude at 10 pm with the Corey Hunt Band, Endless Summer, Special Occasion Band, and culminate with a local favorite, Bantum Rooster. Saturday’s music lineup will begin at 10 am with Back Street Bluegrass, Red Line, Brooke McBride, Transit, and closing the event weekend with the ever popular Eric and the Chilltones.
