Asheboro, NC — Due to predictions of freezing rain and icy conditions Thursday evening, the North Carolina Zoo will be closed to the public on Friday, March 7.

Zoo staff  are asked to report to work as usual on Friday. With temperatures predicted to reach into the 60s by Saturday, the zoo is expected to resume normal winter operating hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the weekend.
