Asheboro, NC - Participants in the North Carolina Zoo's 3rd annual Run Wild 5K, June 8, are encouraged to register by May 24 and save $5 on the registration fee. Due to limited space on the zoo's walkways, a maximum of 600 runners will be able to participant.

The North Carolina Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers will host the event, sponsored by Chick Fil A and Health Source of Asheboro. The race will begin and end at the zoo's Solar Pointe Picnic Area in the North America parking lot.

Race-day registration starts at 6:30 a.m., with the race beginning promptly at 7:30 a.m. A free kid's fun run will take place at Solar Pointe at 8:45 a.m.

The cost of the race, which includes a race t-shirt, is $25 for adults and $20 for youths (under 18) before May 24 and then $30 for adults and $25 for youths after that date. Runners will also receive a free child's admission to the zoo with paid adult admission after the race.
