Asheboro, NC - Circa Gallery is holding an Artist Reception and Show for photographer/artist Chris Shoenfeld on Friday December 14 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. The reception will be held during "Christmas on Sunset" in downtown Asheboro at 150 Sunset Avenue. Chris combines photographic images to create dynamic art in a mosaic fashion. He is best known for his pieces that captured zoo animals and sold at the North Carolina's "Zoo To Do".
Interest in art for Chris began at an early age growing up in Baltimore, Maryland. He did not start as a photographer but as a cartoon artist. Honorably serving in the United States Navy for 8 years, he attended school for a Graphic Design degree. Taking photography classes to learn how composition between the graphic designer and photographer work, he picked up the camera and has not put it down since. Chris still remains creative with mixed mediums in cartooning and genuinely love both.
Currently Chris is an active photographer and artist. A submission to the North Carolina's "Zoo To Do" placed him in the spotlight when a photo mosaic of Batir
(the North Carolina Zoo's baby elephant) raised $20,000 for the NC Zoo. Additionally, his work can be seen in such publications as the Courier Tribune, YES Weekly, UPS, The Baltimore Sun and locally the Got2Pick" logo on Hwy 49 South.
Chris is "appreciative of the opportunity to share my work with all those who have supported me the past few years".
This event is free and the public is invited to attend. Chris will be on hand to meet and discuss his work. The reception will be held Friday December 14th at Circa Gallery, 150 Sunset Avenue Asheboro N.C. Light refreshments will be available.
