ASHEBORO, NC – The North Carolina Zoo will host two “spooktacular” Halloween-themed events Saturday, Oct. 15 - Batology and Zoo Grooves. Batology begins at 10 a.m. at the Deserts of the World exhibit. Zoo guests will enjoy a variety of activities, including an opportunity to meet the keepers, an information station, crafts, bag giveaways, and face painting, leading up to a 3:30 p.m. Vampire Bat feeding. That evening at 5:30 p.m. the gates will open for the first ever 21-and-over Halloween party and Zoo Grooves concert at the Africa Amphitheatre. The wicked night of fun includes live music from the popular Sleeping Booty band, craft beer, a variety of food selections and the opportunity for grownups to dress in Halloween costumes if they choose. Chairs and blankets are allowed for the 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. event. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
