ASHEBORO, NC — Since many North Carolina Zoo visitors admire the zoo’s beautiful, colorful and unique plant collection, the zoo is giving them an opportunity to own a piece of it. More than 50 species of plants are going to be on sale, for less than $5 at the North Carolina Zoo’s fall plant sale.

The plant sale is on Oct. 11 and Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Africa region parking lot. Some of the plant species include: perennials, tropical plants and herbs.

Everything on sale was grown and nurtured by the zoo’s experienced horticulture staff. Transactions at the sale can only be made with cash and checks.

The North Carolina Zoo is an agency of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources, John E. Skvarla, III, Secretary; Pat McCrory, Governor.
