Seagrove, NC - The North Carolina Pottery Center, partnering with the Yadkin Valley Craft Guild; is pleased to announce the Exhibit, Pottery from the Yadkin Valley Craft Guild. The Yadkin Valley Craft Guild is located in Elkin, NC in the heart of Yadkin Valley, and is a non-profit organization committed to the promotion of fine and heritage crafts and craft education in the Yadkin Valley region. Exhibiting members in the guild are accepted through a jury process. The guilds members work in clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood, photography and mixed media. The NCPC is proud to partner with the guild to showcase this selection of clay works from 16 artists. The participants are: Walter Aberson, Gene Arnold, Aaron Blackwelder, Janet Campbell, Daniel Cater, Robin Cater, Tom Gwyn, Phyllis Haile, Kate McGruder Lambeth, Greg Mathis, Richard Montgomery, Doris Petersham, Georgie Stone, Kathy Townsend, Arnold White, Sandy White.

The Yadkin Valley exhibition is scheduled for May 6th thru July 30th, 2011, and pieces will be for sale beginning at 5:30 pm on the day of the reception.

The artist reception is Friday, May 6th from 5:30- 7:30pm. The reception is free and open to the public.

The mission of the North Carolina Pottery Center is to promote public awareness of and appreciation for the history, heritage, and ongoing tradition of pottery making in North Carolina.
