ASHEVILLE, NC - The U.S. Forest Service National Forests in North Carolina has published its Forest Facts and Briefing Book for 2012. The book is now available online at: http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5355450.pdf.

The Briefing Book provides facts and statistics for the four national forests in North Carolina for 2011. The publication also offers a breakdown of last year's accomplishments across the Nantahala, Pisgah, Uwharrie and Croatan National Forests. For example, did you know 80 acres of longleaf pine trees were planted last year in the Uwharrie National Forest as part of the agency's restoration efforts?

The book includes maps, color photos, contact information for key Forest Service officials and much more.
