Seagrove, NC - Westmoore Pottery will hold its annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 9th, from 9 am to 5 pm.  The shop will be decorated for the holidays with a cozy fire ablaze in the shop fireplace.  Ornaments newly made for 2017 will adorn the Christmas tree; those ornaments will be for sale beginning December 9th.

Included in the kiln load of wares unloaded that morning will be pottery with Christmas motifs.

Hearth cook Karen Becker enjoyed cooking in Westmoore Pottery’s fireplace so much in November that she will return for the Holiday Open House to make gingerbread in the fireplace using a receipt (recipe) from the early 1800s.  Karen will be cooking around mid-day.  She’ll also be making hot mulled apple cider, heating the cider using a mulling iron made by next-door blacksmith Jerry Darnell of Mill Creek Forge.

Refreshments other than the historical gingerbread will also be served all day.

Westmoore Pottery is located at 4622 Busbee Road, near Seagrove, North Carolina, and will be open from 9 am to 5 pm.  There is no charge for this event.
