ASHEBORO, NC — When it comes to scary, terrifying, ghoulish, jump-out-of-your-skin Halloween attractions, there’s not much you can say with your heart pounding inside your throat. Nevertheless, the haunted places in the heart of North Carolina around Asheboro, Seagrove and Archdale garner quite the buzz among media outlets that critique such things.

Haunt World Magazine placed Kersey Valley’s Spooky Woods at No. 8, while both Martha Stewart and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ranked it at No. 3. A short drive away, Spooky Bottom Haunted Trail is a two-time winner of the Victims Choice Awards for best haunted attraction in the Carolinas.
