The United Kingdom – The travel and tourism industry is, by all regards, a goliath, accounting for multi-trillion-dollar expenditures every year and single-handedly fueling global economies. Despite this, the sector is incredibly competitive, and expectations require nothing short of excellence to reap continued success.
LUXlife launched the Travel & Tourism Awards to recognize those who have dedicated themselves to offering the finest experiences and products and services in the industry. Whether established stalwarts or up and coming newcomers, we endeavor to seek out the paragons who lead the pack and set the benchmark.
According to Steve Simpson, Awards Coordinator, “Travel and Tourism encompasses a vast array of different businesses. Whether working in the hospitality, entertainment, or food and beverage sectors and everything in between, companies of all shapes and sizes contribute to creating exquisite memories for people all over the world. We congratulate the Heart of NC Visitors Bureau on their win for 'Travel Guide of the Year.'
Published bi-monthly, LUXlife informs readers on all aspects of high-end lifestyle, including the finest food and drink, hotels and resorts, health and beauty, automotive, jewelry, and art and technology from around the world.
“Travel guide trends have evolved since the TDA became the official destination marketing organization for Randolph County in 1997,” said David Caughron, Chairman of the Board for the TDA. “They are now more of a must-read magazine instead of a business directory. Our content is bright and glossy yet informative. I think when you read our travel guide, you get a sense of the culture of this area and its story.”
The LUXlife article detailing why the HNCVB’s travel guide was chosen states, ‘…the image of the renowned potter, Eck McCanless carrying the results of his craft captures a humility yet pride in his work, a coarseness combined with a sophistication that draws people in. Encapsulating the best in the business, it’s (the guide) a friend for those in unfamiliar waters.’
“We are deeply honored to be chosen for this prestigious award,” said Tammy O’Kelley, CEO of the TDA, which operates the Heart of NC Visitors Bureau. “Our director of tourism, Amber Scarlett and agency, Manor House Graphics, works very hard to make each year’s travel guide better than the year before. I think this award is a testament to that hard work.”
