Kersey Valley looks to future

RANDOLPH COUNTY — It has been a whirlwind month for Kersey Valley Attractions.

Without the means to host customary activities, staff members began their unemployment on March 27, according to Tony Wohlgemuth, owner of Archdale’s premier entertainment venue. He explained that April has brought with it uplifting news, including the opportunity to bring back his staff this week.

Having received a loan through the federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), as well as an emergency injury disaster loan, Wohlgemuth said “the farm” at Kersey Valley will sustain business operations for the foreseeable future.

“Now we’ve got enough money to typically handle three months of our normal operations this time of the year,” Wohlgemuth said. “We’re hiring people back now, and I think as of April 29, the stay-at-home should be lifted. At that point, I think we can stay within phase I guidelines of groups of 10 or less, which fits our criteria anyway, for our year-round businesses for the most part.”
