Bio: Local artist and illustrator Rich Powell has somehow managed to feed himself for the last 22 years by selling himself out to anyone who would stoop so low to buy his drawings. He's even managed to gain a little weight! Beginning as a concept artist for the seminal computer game company, Sierra On-Line in the early 90's Rich has worked for a myriad of clients throughout the years. His illustrations and cartoons have been used by Our State Magazine, The North Carolina Zoo, Playboy, Mad Magazine, McGraw-Hill, The National Institutes for Health and many others. Currently he draws a daily cartoon for Universal Press Syndicate that had it's humble beginnings in Asheboro's own Courier-Tribune. He lives in Asheboro with his beautiful wife and fellow artist, Frankie and his talented daughter Bailey.
