Broken Water Line Closes I-73/74 Visitor Centers in Seagrove

SEAGROVE – The I-73/74 Visitor Centers on both north and southbound lanes of Interstate 73/74 one mile south of Seagrove will be closed on Wednesday, June 18th due to a broken water line that has left the centers and rest areas without water. According to Bobby Marsh, representing the Ulah-Seagrove Metropolitan Water District, repair crews will be on the scene tomorrow and the centers are expected to reopen on Thursday, June 19, 2014 on a normal operating schedule when water service is fully restored.

Although the Visitor Centers will be closed, visitor services and travel information, including information on the U.S. Women's Open Championship currently being played at Pinehurst Resort will be available from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. by toll free phone at (800) 626-2672.

The I-73/74 Visitor Centers are staffed and operated by the Randolph County Tourism Development Authority in cooperation with the N.C. Department of Transportation. For additional information, call (336) 626-0364 or go online to HeartofNorthCarolina.com.
