North Carolina Zoo

The North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro celebrates nature! As the world’s largest zoo, they provide animals room to roam. Guests enjoy authentic experiences with African animals like elephants, ostriches, and rhinos—including two new baby rhino now playing on the Watani Grasslands; or climb aboard the Zoofari vehicle for an exclusive tour inside the 40-acre Grasslands. Create lasting memories by getting eye-to-eye with graceful giraffes at the Acacia Station Giraffe Deck and discover other wildlife such as polar bears, cougars, chimps, and gorillas. Families can also enjoy hiking trails and an adventurous Air Hike ropes course!
