The Busbee Road Potters Host Valentine's Shopping

Seagrove, NC - The Seagrove Potters of Historic Busbee Road are literally in motion making new creations for Valentine's shopping and celebration.  Time to step out, shop and visit the potteries; with twelve shops along a 3-mile drive featuring functional and decorative pottery, jewelry, and other crafts, you are sure to find the perfect gift for your Valentine.  Shops will offer a variety of happenings and refreshments; look for the Event signs.  Where is Busbee Road, you may wonder? It’s about five miles north of Robbins and seven miles south of Seagrove. A visit to www.potteryofbusbeeroad.com can help you in planning your trip. Jugtown Pottery will celebrate our love of animals this Valentine’s by donating 10% of in-store sales February 9th through 14th to Animal Advocates of Moore County. AAMC is not a shelter; they are an organization dedicated to the animals and animal lovers of Moore County. AAMC programs include Foster Care, Adoptions Events, Trap-Neuter-Release, Financial Assistance with Spay/Neuter, Surgery Needs & Emergency Care, Feral Cat Sanctuary Maintenance, and Lost & Found Animal Program.

The shop will be stocked with pots made by the Jugtown potters, Vernon, Pam, Travis, & Bayle Owens. Available pieces will include bowls & mugs, serving dishes, vases & candlesticks, JLK Jewelry, and great American made crafts. We will have earthy wood fired pieces, as well as an array of warm colors.

While shopping, enjoy coffee, tea, and Valentine treats in the shop!

Jugtown Pottery is open Tuesday – Saturday, 8:30-5:00.

Ben Owen Pottery will feature new works in Chinese Red and Purple glazes on February 9th (10am-5pm) for that special Valentine.  Refreshments will be served beginning at 10 am.   Ben will be demonstrating on the potter’s wheel at various times during the day.

O'Quinn Pottery February 9th (9am-5pm) will be decorated for the Valentine weekend. Featured items include ''I LOVE YOU'' mugs, angels and heart-shaped pottery items. Special refreshments will be served and a door prize drawing will be held.

Original Owens Pottery will highlight VValentine's shopping with their signature Owens Red, featuring planters, hanging baskets, bird feeders and bird houses. Decorated and solid glaze dinner and table wares will also be highlighted. Soft Drinks and popcorn will be served. Open 9-5 

JLK Jewelry at Jugtown will have a selection of new jewelry designs available at Jugtown. Handmade sterling silver jewelry set with pottery cabochons made using Jugtown's clay and glazes and accented with semi-precious stones and sometimes gold.

Hickory Hill Pottery invites you to celebrate Valentine’s Day with us. Our shop will be decorated for the occasion and stocked with a variety of ware for that special one. Refreshments will be served. Open 9-5.

CADY CLAY WORKS will feature our latest "Archive" sale, featuring "The Chicken Archives" - our collection of pottery chickens made in NC during the past 32 years.  We are saying good-by to our customers this year, and passing along some of the hundreds of pieces of clay art we have collected since we opened Cady Clay Works in 1987.  We have chickens by potters such as Charles Moore, Larry Moore, Crystal King, Anna King, Craig Kovak and others.  Stop in for a piece of NC pottery history! Open 10 - 5.
