Posted on 06/10/14

Seagrove, NC - The North Carolina Pottery Center, located in Seagrove, NC, has plenty of summer clay programs for Ages 8 and Up starting in early July!

As part of an on-going collaboration between the NC Pottery Center and East Carolina University, Erin Younge, a 3rd year graduate student in East Carolina University's Ceramics Program, is interning with us this summer and will be conducting a number of clay programs.

Programs include "Mommies Little Monters," with Anne Partna of Blue Hen Pottery showing kids how to carve and add color to their own little monsters in clay plates, "Zoo Keepers Needed," with Bayle Owens of Jugtown Pottery showing kids how to add animal features to pots, and "Sid Luck and Me," with local potter Sid Luck showing kids how to add faces to jugs!

Other programs focus on wheel throwing, hand-building, clay-sculpting, sgraffito, and raku firing.
