Party for the Planet at the NC Zoo this Weekend and Celebrate Earth Day

Asheboro, NC — In honor of Earth Day which is on April 22nd, employees with the North Carolina Zoo want you to “Party for the Planet” and discover what you can do to take care of the Earth! We’re celebrating Earth Day on April 12th and 13th. Here’s a list of awesome events we have planned.

●Drum making crafts & circles with "Music Explorium" at Watani 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

●Musical performance "The Healing Force" (Saturday only) by Junction Plaza 12 p.m. & 2 p.m.

●Can/Bottle Exchange at North America & Africa Plazas 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

●Educational activities going on throughout park 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

●Tree seedling giveaway at North America exit 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

●Fred Motley storytelling at KIDZONE 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

●Randolph County Water Quality Task Force (Saturday only) located on Marsh Deck 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

●NC Big Sweep (Saturday only) at Back Deck SS North 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

●NC Division of Forest Resources at North America Plaza 10 a.m. - 3p.m.

●NC GreenPower (Saturday only) at Aviary 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

●PART (Saturday only) at Aviary 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

●The NC Friends of Wooden Kiosk John Denver (Saturday only) located outside Sonora Desert 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

●Asheboro High Zoo School (Saturday) located throughout park 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

●DART (Saturday only) located on Brick Pad between Sonora Desert & Honeybee 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
