NC Zoo Society Event Moved Indoors

Posted on 09/06/12

Asheboro, NC - Due to predictions of rainy weather, the North Carolina Zoological Society has opted to move its annual fund raiser "Zoo-To-Do" indoors.

Slated to begin at 6 p.m., Saturday, September 8, "Zoo-To-Do" includes dinner, music and both live and silent auctions. It is the largest special event on the yearly calendar for the Zoo Society, the non-profit fundraising organization for the North Carolina Zoo.

This year's "Zoo-To-Do" will be held in the zoo's North America parking area. But due to predictions of stormy weather, it will be moved into a 12,000-square-foot tent. Last year's event saw more than 850 guests and raised more than $157,000 for zoo programs. The theme for "Zoo-To-Do" 2012 is "Sonoran Nights," with funds raised earmarked to help build a new exhibit for the zoo's ocelots and a much-needed storage facility.

For more information on "Zoo-To-Do" call the Society's toll-free number at 888-244-3736 or visit the website at www.nczoo.com.

The zoo is an agency of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Dee A. Freeman, Secretary; Beverly E. Perdue, Governor.
