Hoover Hired as Visitor Center Manager
Asheboro, NC - The Randolph County Tourism Development Authority recently hired Myra Hoover to assume the new title of Visitor Center Manager for the Heart of North Carolina Visitor Centers* in Seagrove. Hoover started her new position on July 1, 2012. Previous to working for the Randolph County TDA, Hoover served as a Supervisor at the visitor centers for their first two-and-a-half years in operation working for both Safe-T Concierge Services and NCDOT.
Hoover started her career as a graphic artist graduating from Randolph Community College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Graphic Design. She has worked for several advertising agencies, print companies, and newspaper and sign companies over the past 25-plus years as a graphic artist serving in both marketing and management roles.
At the visitor centers, Hoover will oversee the general business operations, including serving as immediate supervisor to the Travel Information Counselor staff, scheduling, social media and website promotions, and will serve as the point of contact for the North Carolina Departments of Transportation and Commerce.
Hoover and her husband, Gordon, are both from Asheboro and have two sons, Zack and Nathan.
