Williams Promoted to Tourism Manager

Asheboro, NC - The Heart of North Carolina Visitors Bureau recently promoted Amber Williams to assume the new title of Tourism Manager on July 1, 2012.

Since joining the bureau in February, 2007, Williams has assisted with major projects including a new destination website, the development and production of the annual visitors guide, and has overseen the development of all social networking initiatives including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

She also serves as the market sales direct liaison to the county's lodging industry and liaison to the NC Division of Tourism, Film & Sports Development assisting with various promotional initiatives including the annual North Carolina Travel Guide and VisitNC.com website.

In her new role as tourism manager, Williams will continue to serve in those roles but will also act as assistant director overseeing bureau support staff.

The Heart of North Carolina Visitors Bureau is the official destination marketing organization for Randolph County Tourism Development Authority representing Archdale, Asheboro, Franklinville, Liberty, Ramseur, Randleman, Seagrove, Staley, and Trinity; and operates solely on occupancy taxes generated by overnight guests in Randolph County. The county's travel industry employs nearly 900 direct jobs supporting $13,770,441in lodging sales in 2011.
