First Annual Bloomin' Wine Festival

Posted on 04/30/12

Trinity, NC - On May 12, 12 - 6pm, Zimmerman Vineyards & Linbrook Heritage Estate celebrate the annual rite of grapevines in bloom! Flowering begins with small clusters that appear within weeks of bud break. The future grape clusters blossom mid-May releasing a subtle fragrance . . . the essence of wine to be. Join us as we celebrate the beauty and excitement of bloomin' wine!

Enjoy the beautiful countryside surrounding Zimmerman Vineyards while listening to live music provided by local bands, Our Two Cents (12pm-3pm) and The Lauren Light Band (3pm-6pm). Wine Tastings are $5.00 and include a souvenir wine glass. Goat Lady Dairy Cheese trays are available, or bring a picnic, buy a bottle, and ENJOY. And what would a Bloomin' Wine Festival be without Bloomin' Onions? A local non-profit organization will be offering bloomin' onions for purchase to help fund some of their projects in the community. Delicious!

Browse Artisan Alley to discover what's bloomin' with our artisans! Each artisan has incorporated a bloom into their craft...a delicate Cloisonné flower embedded in a wine stopper, the form of a flower woven into a wrought iron plant stand, blooms forever captured in note cards and prints, hand-painted furniture rejuvenated by blooms, jewelry using wood, glass, and semi-precious stone to create the essence of a flower, stained glass creations that capture light through the petals of a flower... just a few ways local artisans will celebrate the blooming of the vines with us! Artisans will be on site to demonstrate their crafts throughout the day.

Magnify the day with a visit to Linbrook Heritage Estate!

A shuttle connects Zimmerman Vineyards with Linbrook Heritage Estate every half hour. The ride begins with a drive by the magnificent Linbrook Hall, filming site for Hallmark's upcoming movie "The Confession", then proceeds on to the Hoover House and the Neal John Deere® Tractor and Industrial Museum. Linbrook Heritage Estate will operate vintage tractors from the Neal John Deere® Tractor and Industrial Museum in the fields of the Estate . . . a rare opportunity not to be missed. Savor homemade ice cream or freshly popped popcorn on your way to touring the Neal John Deere® Tractor and Industrial Museum. Experience the inaugural firing of a restored 1926 return-tube boiler from the local Asheboro P&P Chair Company.

Visit the Historic Hoover House, just a short walk from the Neal John Deere® Tractor and Industrial Museum. Restored in 2011, this 1905 farmhouse contains all original furnishings and objects. The farmhouse's builder, Edd Hoover, was a subsistence farmer who knew how to be entirely self-sufficient by using the land and resources around him. Learn about the people who lived in the house, view the furniture and objects they used, and join us in honoring the simpler life of living off the land!

Admission to Zimmerman Vineyards and Linbrook Heritage Estate is $5 each. Parking is free! Throughout the day, visitors can purchase raffle tickets at either location for the chance to win tickets to tour Linbrook Hall the evening of the event. Raffle tickets will be $5.
