ASHEBORO – Lights camera action! You may have noticed a flurry of activity in the Asheboro area recently that included a WFMY 2 camera and production crew and popular local TV personality, MayCay Beeler.

An advertising partnership between the City of Asheboro and Randolph County Tourism Development Authority will culminate on Monday night with the airing of the 2008 Summer Fun Guide program featuring Asheboro as a destination for travelers within the WFMY 2 viewing area. The program airs annually as a kick-off to the summer travel season with a focus on destinations that are easy on the gas tank and the wallet.

The program, hosted by Beeler, will feature the North Carolina Zoo, Bicentennial Park, Collector’s Antique Mall, North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame, American Classic Motorcycle Museum, and the Richard Petty Museum, with highlights of several downtown restaurants including the Downtown Soda Shop, Tuscany’s, and Timothy’s Fine Dining.

The Summer Fun Guide will air in primetime on Monday, June 2nd at 8 PM and Saturday, June 7th at noon and 7 PM only on WFMY News 2. For more information on the Summer Fun Guide program contact the Heart of North Carolina Visitor Information Center at 336 626-0364.
