NC Calendar of Events 2009 deadline

Date: July 8 2008Contact: Amber WilliamsASHEBORO – Randolph County Tourism Development Authority is collecting festival and event information for the production of the 2009 N.C. Division of Tourism Official Calendar of Events Guide. The guide distributed bi-annually through the states Welcome Centers and via VisitNC.com 800-VisitNC and locally by Randolph County Tourism features statewide festival and event dates along with descriptions and contact information.If you are located in Randolph County and host or coordinate an event taking place in any of the nine municipalities of the county you may be eligible for inclusion. The deadline to submit festival and event dates for January through June 2009 is July 18 2008. The guidelines for inclusion in the N.C. Calendar of Events include but are not limited to the following: must be located within the borders of Randolph County; must be of interest to and open to the general public; must bring in 25% of visitors from outside of a 60-mile perimeter. All events must have specific dates and a contact name; events that do not include start and end dates will not be included. Events that are not eligible for inclusion include educational classes; seminars; summer camp schedules; fundraising and retail sales events; local recitals; civic club and community meetings; graduations; family or class reunions; conference dates; exceedingly localized events.Requests to submit a festival or event for consideration must be made directly to Randolph County Tourism Development Authority with final decisions on inclusion made by the N.C. Division of Tourism. It is the full responsibility of event organizers and coordinators to provide accurate and complete information in a timely manner to be considered for the guide.
