NC Zoo participates in electronics recycling days

Date: September 9 2008Contact: Tom GillespieASHEBORO N.C.—The North Carolina Zoo in association with the Cooperative Extension Water Quality Task Force and Randolph County Big Sweep will participate in and support the county’s largest electronic recycling event Saturday Sept. 20 in the Randolph Mall parking lot from 8 a.m. until noon.The collection site will be at the eastern end of the mall parking lot outside Dillard’s. The public can bring old computers cell phones stereo equipment telephones radios fax machines game systems and other unwanted electronic devices—no matter what the condition. Television sets cannot be accepted.Others supporting the Electronics Recycling Day are the Randolph County Office of N.C. Cooperative Extension Asheboro Recycling Company Elite Electronics Recycling Goodyear Tire & Rubber Randolph Telephone Ink Solutions the City of Asheboro Randolph Mall N.C. Big Sweep Chick-fil-A the Randolph-Asheboro Chamber of Commerce Leadership Randolph/ROAR Program Stormwater Smart and the Randolph County departments of Public Works Planning and Environmental Health.For additional information about the recycling event contact the Cooperative Extension Office at 336-318-6000 or the N.C.
