Tourism Development Authority Hosts 3rd Annual “Operation Thank You” Event #OperationThankYou #TourismCares #JustSayThanks

Seagrove, NC - The Heart of NC Visitors Bureau & I-73/74 Visitor Centers, both operated by the Randolph County Tourism Development Authority will host their 3rd “Operation Thank You” event on Friday, October 18, 2019. The event is held annually to raise awareness, support, celebrate, honor, and importantly, say “Thank You” to Randolph County’s First Responders for the difficult job they do every day. First Responders, including paramedics, EMTs, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other rescue personnel put their lives on the line each day to serve and protect our County and our way of life.

As a thank you for their service, all active-duty law enforcement, and first responders are invited to the I-73/74 Visitor Centers on Friday, October 18, 2019, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm for a complimentary lunch catered by Snyder Farms Restaurant. Special-edition T-shirts, designed and produced by Manor House Graphics and The WEARHouse in Asheboro, will be distributed to the first 50 active-duty participants in uniform or with proper identification who stop at the I-73/74 Visitor Center – Southbound. These “Visit the Heart of NC” t-shirts include the hashtags #OperationThankYou #TourismCares and #JustSayThanks and have become collector’s items in the first responder’s community. After stopping to pick up a t-shirt at the Southbound center, participants will be directed to the Northbound center for lunch starting at 11:00 am.

The I-73/74 Visitor Centers are located one mile south of Exit 61 in Seagrove at 4390 Interstate 73/74 – Southbound and 4393 Interstate 73/74 – Northbound. Built-in 2010 to serve travelers on I-73/74, the Visitor Centers feature landscaped grounds, a green roof, picnic tables, grills, and walking trails. The centers offer visitor information for Archdale, Asheboro, Franklinville, Liberty, Ramseur, Randleman, Seagrove, Staley, and Trinity, brochures, and other collateral materials of interest from across Randolph County and North Carolina, and NCDOT road maps. Additional buildings include snack vending and public restrooms, which are open daily 24/7.
