Save Our Snakes Slithers into the North Carolina Zoo This Saturday

ASHEBORO, N.C. – In an effort to educate visitors and Zoo staff alike, Save Our Snakes, Saturday, May 14, at the North Carolina Zoo is dedicated to the importance of snakes in nature and an opportunity to view the often feared reptile in a completely new and positive way.
The event which lasts from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. will assist Zoo guests in how to identify venomous and non-venomous snakes in the wild as well as what steps to take with a snake encounter. Details on the intensive Snake Study undertaken by the North Carolina Zoo where snake movement patterns are carefully studied through tagging wild snakes on-site will also be covered.
