The Randolph Arts Guild Offers Clay Mug & Coaster Set with Brooke Avery

Asheboro, NC - The Randolph Arts Guild offers an evening course with Randolph County Native potter, Brooke Avery.  Attendees will learn how to make a cool mug for hot cocoa or hot tea.  Mugs and coasters are slab built then attendees will choose embellishments including patterns to press into the clay.  All materials are provided.  This class is designed for ages 15 and up and meets on two Wednesdays: January 13 & 20 from 6 - 8 pm at the Morings Art Center located at 123 Sunset Avenue in downtown Asheboro.  The fee is $20 for guild members and $25 for non-members. Payment and registration are required for enrollment.  The enrollment deadline is Wednesday, January 6, 2016.  For more information contact the Randolph Arts Guild at (336) 629-0399.

Bio:  Brooke Avery is a ceramic artist and pottery instructor who grew up grew up and currently resides in Trinity, NC.  She graduated in 2008 from UNCG with a B.F.A. in Design.  Brooke teaches pottery classes at the Randolph Arts Guild and is currently a working studio artist there.  Her ceramic work can be found in Greensboro at the Center for Visual Arts and in Asheboro at Morings Fine Crafts and Brightside Gallery.  Brooke is also the 2014 Chug & Chunk Womens Triathlon Champion.
