Starting Nov 2, North Carolina Zoo to Begin Winter Operating Hours
ASHEBORO, NC – The North Carolina Zoo will begin daily winter operating hours of 9 am to 4 pm, on Monday, Nov. 2. These hours will remain in effect until spring 2016, when daily summer hours of 9 am to 5 pm, will resume.
The park’s Africa entrance and parking lot will close for the winter season beginning Nov. 2, along with the parking-lot shuttle service, the connector trail between the Africa and North America parking lots, and the Acacia Station giraffe feeding deck. Visitors will still be able to use tram service inside the Zoo.
During the winter, Zoo visitors can view all the Africa and North America exhibits by entering through the North America entrance.
In addition to the Nov. 2 closings, the Endangered Species Carousel and the 4D theater will close for the season. This weekend will also be the last time for Zoo visitors to trek through Dino World and experience nearly 20 animatronic dinosaurs. The popular exhibit is also closing for the season.
