NC Pottery Center Hosts 2015 Summer Clay Camps for Kids Summer Clay Camp for Kids begins in June!

Seagrove, NC - The North Carolina Pottery Center is pleased to offer “Summer Clay Camp for Kids” this summer. Clay is an exciting and magical material. At Clay Camp children will learn the art and craft of pottery making while having fun and exploring their creativity! Clay Camp is a unique pottery program offering a total hands-on, 3-D experience for children ages 8 to 15.

Classes will be held in our spacious and well-supplied educational building and be conducted by artist-in-residence, Josh Floyd.  Classes are small and students receive both group and individual instruction at their own level. A wide variety of ceramic techniques are taught: throwing simple pieces on the Potter’s Wheel, shaping clay into Pinch Pots, designing and constructing Slab Projects, building unique Coil Vessels, Clay Decoration, and Glazing. 

Schedule:

June 15-29
Ages 8-11. Beginner & Intermediate Young Artists. No experience necessary.

July 13-17
Ages 11-15. Students should have some prior pottery experience, including experience on the potter's wheel.

10 am - 1:30 pm, both camps
Students should bring their own snacks and lunches. Water will be provided.

Payment & Registration:
Cost for each session: $80 members, $90 non-members. Includes instruction and materials.  Payment in-full required with enrollment, deadline June 1st, cancellation refund deadline also June 1st. Master card, Visa, Check, Cash accepted. Space is very limited, so register early!
