Randolph Arts Guild to Feature Artist Les Caison III during Sept 'Out and About'

Asheboro, NC - On Friday, September 19th at 6pm for the last of the monthly downtown “Out & About Asheboro” events, The Randolph Arts Guild’s featured artist will be their own Program Director, Les Caison III. The downtown Out & About events are organized by Asheboro's Downtown Business Association. The monthly evening event provides an opportunity for the community to enjoy an evening in downtown asheboro with many local shops offering extended hours and featuring special events.  

During the last four years in his role as the Guild’s Program Director Les has utilized his artistic skills and creative talent to cultivate cultural opportunities for the citizens of Randolph County.  In addition to these efforts Caison is also an active, working and award winning visual artist. Originally a native of Greensboro, NC, Les is a graduate of Appalachian State University. Les’ work centers on narrative paintings that manifest gracefully through his expressive, gestural style. These key aspects of his technique are highlighted by his unparalleled attention to details both in the composition and in the overall work’s presentation. His paintings have been exhibited throughout North Carolina and his patrons include international clientele. Les is currently preparing for a solo exhibition that opens at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts in Boone in December 2014.  Follow him via his blog: LesCaisonIII.Blogspot.com

Les will be at the guild to unveil his limited edition print of a recent illustration of Asheboro's Historic Sunset Theatre.
