NC Zoo celebrates 1st year for baby gorillas

Asheboro, NC - The crowd at the North Carolina Zoo pressed up against the glass and whipped out their cameras.

No one blew out any candles on this birthday.

But Bomassa and Apollo still had plenty of well-wishers.

The two gorillas celebrated their first birthday Saturday with a “cake” made of ice, sugar-free Kool-Aid, and sliced up fruits and vegetables.
