Zimmerman Vineyards Begins Sisyphus Saturday Music Series

Trinity, NC - Zimmerman Vineyards will begin its Sisyphus Saturday Music Series on Saturday, April 27th. This series will extend throughout the month of October and occur on the last Saturday of each month.

April 27th's event will feature The Old School Boys. This group has been a fixture at the Dixie Classic Fair in Winston-Salem for 16 years, at the North Carolina State Fair for several years, and have played at too many concerts and private events to mention. The band consists of Scott Huffman (guitarist), Craig Smith (banjo), Jeff Foxall (mandolin), and Bert Sprye (bass).

Scott plays and sings a wide range of styles and has spent the last decade touring the U.S. and overseas with Laurie Lewis. Craig is a native of San Bernardino, CA. where he established himself as an award winning player. Moving east around 1980, he became sought after as a recording artist and worked on two Grammy winning CDs (a Bill Monroe Tribute - True Life Blues & a tribute to the Stanly Brothers). Craig now resides in Winston-Salem, NC teaching banjo and performing occasionally. Jeff, from Connecticut, studied with Walter K. Bahr and was his star student. Jeff is well-known for his amazing technical ability on mandolin (and guitar). He also now resides in Winston-Salem teaching music and performing in the area. Robert (Bert) Sprye, from High Point, is sought after for his solid string bass (and electric) playing. He performs with many area musicians from a wide range of music genres.

As a band, they play some Traditional Bluegrass, Old Tyme, Classic Country, Acoustic Swing, etc. they have recorded a CD for the Dixie Classic Fair entitled Songs from the Old School.

Admission for this event is $5/person with wine tastings including a souvenir wine glass at $5/person.
