Visitors bureau requests updates for 2011 Official Visitor & Dining Guide

ASHEBORO, NC - The Heart of North Carolina Visitors Bureau requests all tourism and visitor-related businesses located in Randolph County to contact them with updates for the 2011 official visitors guide currently in production. The visitor guide is the primary fulfillment piece provided to travelers to and within Randolph County and is distributed nationally and internationally through the state's Welcome Centers, VisitNC.com, 800-VisitNC, HeartofNorthCarolina.com; and locally at the Visitors Bureau in downtown Asheboro, area chamber offices, and the Randolph County Visitor Centers. This year's edition will feature countywide arts and entertainment venues, golf, history and heritage sites, local dining, museums and attractions, outdoor fun, parks and recreation, Seagrove Pottery, shopping, sports and racing venues, vineyards and wineries, and an annual special events calendar.

If you believe you may be eligible for FREE inclusion in the 2011 guide, the deadline to submit information is 5 PM on Friday, September 17, 2010. Guidelines include, but are not limited to the following: must be a legally operating and tax-paying (if applicable) business; must be located within the borders of Randolph County and/or have a Randolph County street address and zip code unless otherwise noted; must bring in 25% of visitors from outside of a 60 mile perimeter; must be reasonably clean and meet county and state applicable Department of Health guidelines; cannot promote nudity, drunkenness or lewd behavior; and must be of interest and open to the general public at least three days per week and a minimum of three hours per day with the exception of live musical shows and dinner theaters operating on a year-round weekly schedule and agricultural/outdoor tours that are available to tour groups by appointment.

All special events must have specific dates and a contact name. Events that are not eligible for inclusion are: educational classes; seminars; summer camps; fundraising and retail sales events; local recitals; civic club and community meetings; graduations; family or class reunions; conference dates; and exceedingly localized events.

Requests for publication in the guide must be made directly to the Heart of North Carolina Visitors Bureau. In order to be considered, it is the full responsibility of owners, managers, and event organizers to provide complete, accurate and updated information in a timely manner.
