Visitors bureau distributing 2010 Official Visitor Guides

Posted on 01/20/10

ASHEBORO - The Heart of North Carolina Visitors Bureau is now distributing copies of its new 2010 Official Heart of North Carolina Visitor Guides.

Director of tourism, Tammy O'Kelley, said she is proud of this year's guide as there are some notable changes, including a larger format making it easier to read, a redesigned layout for the dining section, the addition of the county's historical landmarks, and a new Seagrove pottery map that combines all pottery shops and galleries into one page.

"This comprehensive guide illustrates our continued commitment to the marketing and promotion of the county's tourism and hospitality industry," said O'Kelley.

The 27-page guide showcases 48 things to see and do, 16 accommodations, and the only complete directory of Seagrove pottery shops and galleries in Randolph County. Other sections include: About the Area, Festivals & Events, Distinctive Shopping, Area Map, and At Your Service.

"We could not produce this guide without the support of our partners and stakeholders throughout the county" said O'Kelley. "They work very hard to assist us in the annual collection of information."

Guides are available now at the Visitors Bureau in its new location inside the Old Randolph County Courthouse at 145-B Worth Street in downtown Asheboro. The Visitors Bureau is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 p.m. For assistance, contact Vicki Bloxham, office and visitor services coordinator at (336) 626-0364, ext 201.

The Heart of North Carolina Visitors Bureau is the official destination marketing organization for Randolph County Tourism Development Authority, representing Archdale, Asheboro, Franklinville, Liberty, Ramseur, Randleman, Seagrove, Staley, and Trinity; and operates solely on occupancy taxes generated by overnight guests in Randolph County.
