ASHEBORO, N.C. - The North Carolina Zoo Society is offering Randolph County residents, who are not current members in the Zoo Society, $10 off memberships. These discounted family memberships will start at $49.

Zoo Society membership grants annual admission to the N.C. Zoo and free, or 50 percent, admission to 150 other zoos and aquariums across North America-including all three North Carolina aquariums and Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park in Scotland Neck, N.C.

"Membership in the Zoo Society is another great way to support our beloved treasure that calls Randolph County home," said Sam & Missy Rankin, who have been members of the Zoo Society for more than 30 years.

The offer, which begins Jan. 1, will run through Feb. 28. For more information, contact the Zoo Society offices at 336-879-7250 or visit any Zoo Society member booth at the N.C. Zoo.

The North Carolina Zoological Society is a private non-profit organization that supports the North Carolina Zoo and conservation. The zoo is an agency of the N.C. Department of Environment & Natural Resources, Dee A. Freeman, Secretary; Bev. E. Perdue, Governor.
