Runners gear up for half marathon/5 mile run/walk to benefit Victory Junction presented by Walmart

What: Victory Junction is gearing up for runners and walkers across the nation to make a difference in the lives of children. Presented by Walmart, Victory Junction has again teamed up with Runner's World Columnist and John Bingham Racing founder John "The Penguin" Bingham to host the "Run To Victory "Half Marathon and Five Mile Run/Walk on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009.

The run will begin in Randleman (N.C.) and finish at Victory Junction with all proceeds of the event benefitting the camp. Last year's event featured 825 runners and walkers and raised more than $125,000.

This year's pace car is a highly-collectible, 2010 BFGoodrich/Hurst Mustang convertible. After setting the pace for the for the "Run To Victory" the car will make its way to the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The car will be auctioned off in January to benefit Victory Junction's second location in Kansas City, Kansas.

Victory Junction is a year-round camping facility that enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering, in a safe and medically-sound environment. As a not-for-profit organization, the camp operates solely through the support of generous donors to provide this experience free of charge to children and families.

10:00 a.m. Run begins at Randleman Middle School

11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Race finish, video opportunities at Victory Junction
