RhinoLeap Productions Announces 2019-2020 Season

Asheboro, NC – RhinoLeap Productions is based in Asheboro, North Carolina and is one
of the fastest-growing arts organizations in the state. We produce, tour and teach in
multiple counties. It is our mission to present projects that reflect the diversity of North
Carolina while simultaneously teaching in-school and after-school educational
residencies that bring high school students into direct contact with our experienced
artists. Our professional actors, designers, and directors come from all over North
Carolina as well as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, DC. We also
hire current college students from many of the state’s top arts programs. For our 2019-
2020 Season, RhinoLeap is pleased to announce our first co-productions, both with major North Carolina institutions.  A new play commissioned by the City of Asheboro about Randolph County!

September 29, 1918. Company K of Randolph County makes its historic stand. This
August, live performances by actors and musicians will bring to life the love, heartache
and brotherhood found in actual letters written between North Carolina soldiers and their
loved ones leading up to Company K's victorious battle that accelerated the end of World
War I. The production will also perform in Troy, NC.

Leaving Eden

A hopeful hymn for the future, Leaving Eden entwines threads from the present and the past. From the Garden of Eden. To Africa. To the Americas. Slavery. The industrial revolution. Unions. The immigration crackdown. To a small town. In North Carolina. Where the American Dream and America's Original Sin collide into explosions of song and vivid characters.
Featuring Jaclyn Betham, Nic Brown, Chandler Bryant, Nathaniel Claridad, Matias De La Flor, Nadiyah Dorsey, Isidro Fuentes, Moses T. Alexander Greene, Lalenja Harrington, Peggy Kilburn, Jim Langer, Carl Martin, Gabriela Mayorga, Patrick Monaghan, Patrick Osteen, Phil Shore, Phillip Bernard Smith, and Lindsay Vernon. It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play

The story you know and love is recreated with masterful voices and inventive sound effects by only five actors as they breathe life into all your favorite characters from Bedford Falls. You will laugh and cry as Clarence the Angel tries to convince George Bailey that his life has, indeed, been well lived. The production will also perform in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Featuring performances by Jeremy Beazlie, Chance Carroll, Maggie D’Ambrose, Stephen D’Ambrose, and Barbara Kingsley who have appeared in productions on Broadway, off-Broadway, national tours, and cities across the country. Designed by Dorothy Austin-Harrell, Mark Dillon and Noah Trimner.

The Last Five Years

An intimate window into the hardship of love: we follow a struggling actress and a budding novelist as they meet, fall in love, marry, and divorce over the span of five years. She begins her story from the end of their marriage; he begins his from the first moment they ever met. As the musical unfolds, she moves backward in time ending with their very first date while his story moves forward ending with them saying goodbye. They meet only once, in the middle, at their wedding. The production will also perform in Sanford, NC.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Co-Production with Cape Fear Regional Theatre

Wellington, the neighbor's dog, is dead. Now it is up to fifteen-year-old Christopher Boone to investigate the murder. But the mysteries he begins to uncover go way beyond the death of a pet, and the only thing slowing his investigation down are the rules put in place by his father who is afraid of what the world will do to a young boy with autism. The production will also perform in Fayetteville, NC.
