Wings Over Vines Celebration Set for Sunday, August 28

ASHEBORO, NC – The North Carolina Zoo’s Valerie H Schindler Wildlife Rehabilitation Center  will celebrate its fifteenth anniversary Sunday, August 28 with the release of a rehabilitated raptor at Zimmerman Vineyards, 1428 Tabernacle Church Rd, Trinity, N.C. TheWings over Vines celebration and benefit will begin at 3 p.m., with the raptor release scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Tickets are required for this event and are available at http://store.nczoo.com/p-914-2016-wings-over-vines.aspx.  Tickets, for adults, 21 and over, provide entry to the event, two glasses of wine and light hors d'oeuvres. 
 Tickets for minors, designated drivers and teetotalers offer light hors d'oeuvres and soda. Children under 2 are free. Pets are not allowed.

The Valerie H Schindler Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at the North Carolina Zoo opened in August 2001.  Since its opening, staff, volunteers and interns have provided free veterinary and husbandry care for over 10,000 sick, injured and orphaned North Carolina native wildlife.
