Piedmont Triad Destination Marketing Organization Elects New Officers for 2016

HIGH POINT, NC – The Piedmont Triad Destination Marketing Organization met recently at the High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau to elect new officers for 2016. Made up of tourism CEO’s and marketing professionals representing the convention and visitor bureaus of the Piedmont Triad; and liaisons from the UNC-G Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality, and Tourism, the I/73-74 and Piedmont Triad Visitor Centers, Piedmont Triad Airport Authority, and Piedmont Triad Film Commission, the group is charged with working cooperatively to promote tourism and support public policies that encourage the growth and development of the Piedmont Triad’s travel industry.           

Officers were elected as follows:

• Chairman – Robert Cox. Cox, a 20-plus year veteran in North Carolina’s travel and tourism industry, is the current Executive Director of the Burlington/Alamance County CVB. Cox also serves as Past-Chairman of the Board of the North Carolina Sports Association, President of the Friends of the Alamance Battleground, and is a member of the Downtown Burlington Branding Committee and New Leaf Society.
• Vice-Chair – Robin Bivens. Bivens, is the currently the Executive Director of the Lexington Tourism Authority.  She served on the Lexington Strategic Planning Committee and is a member of Uptown Lexington, Inc, Lexington’s Main Street Program.
• Secretary – Amber Skeen. Skeen is the Office Manager for the Randolph County Tourism Development Authority where she also serves as Clerk to the Board and personal assistant to the Executive Director.
